If you visit this webpage, you will find ALL of our social media pages for Durham University! It has been a busy summer getting everything sorted and ready to go, and now it is up on our International Office webpage with easy links to it all. Let us know if there is anything you would like to see on there :)
Also, we have a presentation on arriving in Durham at:

I wanted to post about this new found way of travel I discovered! (Living here for a year as a student, I am surprised I never knew about this!)
So the megabus is a HUGE bus that (slowly) takes you down south to Leeds, London, etc. The return trip cost me £20…far less than a train ticket!! If you have the time to use this type of transport, I really suggest taking it! It is very simple, but it gets you where you need to go. However, make sure you look at the times you book and plan travel accordingly to the bus stop! The megabus stop is in Newcastle, right by the Central Railway station, in front of the Royal Hotel. Make sure when you book your times, that you check if there is a bus/train to and from Newcastle on the days your travelling! I made the mistake of booking a 1.15a and had to sit at the rail station for 3 hours!
But you arrive in about 7 hours into London and it takes you right to Victoria Station (central london area)
I also figured out that you can take Megabus up to Scotland! Quite nice for those of you wanting to travel further north :)
Neways, I thought I would share this with those of you just arriving so you can travel very inexpensively around the UK and enjoy your time here!
Hopefully by now, you are all getting your bags packed to come study at Durham, and we look forward to meeting you during the welcome week!
